This internship will give participants the opportunity to learn claims adjusting skills that would be transferable to many different areas of the insurance industry. Participants in the internship will learn communication, computer, estimating, damage recognition, negotiation, and financial skills. During the internship participants will complete claims training courses and then will spend the first few weeks shadowing an adjuster. After a few weeks they will begin to take a small amount of claims and work these claims over the phone. As participants grow in experience, they will see an increase in claims load, until they are capable of performing all functions of the claims adjusting positions.
