ComStar
ComStar Telecommunications Training is a unique program designed specifically to educate, train, and develop technicians so that they are completely familiar and proficient in all aspects of ground work and tower climbing. The ComStar Telecommunications Tower and Site Technician Certificates, awarded by Cumberland University, are not solely dedicated to tower climbing courses. The courses cover many aspects of telecom construction, including fiber optic certifications. The training provides a comprehensive skillset from breaking ground for foundations to erecting, cabling, outfitting, testing, and calibrating fully functional cell towers, distributed antenna systems, AM / FM broadcast, or microcell installations. The course lasts 3 weeks plus 1 day and students may elect to participate in either the Basic Tower Technician or Basic Site Technician Certificate concentration in the ComStar Telecommunications Technician CSP. Training runs Monday thru Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. (16-day program, totaling 128 clock hours, per concentration).
