The Cisco Networking program teaches students how to build, maintain, and troubleshoot computer networks. Students also learn how to connect these networks to other networks and the Internet. Topics include introduction to networking and routing; program graduates have the qualifications of a Cisco Networking Specialist and are prepared to take the Cisco Networking Academy CCNA qualification tests and will receive a Technical Certificate of Credit and 16 college credits.
The Commercial Truck Driving technical certificate program provides basic training in the principles and skills of commercial truck operations. The program is based on the definition of a truck driver as one who operates a commercial motor vehicle of all different sizes and descriptions on all types of roads. At the completion of the program, students will be awarded a technical certificate of credit and are prepared to take the Georgia Class A driver's license examination. Graduates will also earn 9 college credits.
The Commercial Electrical Construction Technician TCC is designed for careers in the electrical construction industry. A combination of basic concepts, theory, and practical application is utilized to develop academic, technical, and professional knowledge and skills. Topics addressed in the training include but are not limited to industrial safety procedures, the National Electrical Code, commercial load calculations, three phase power systems, and fundamentals of AC motor control. The program provides guaranteed interviews. Regardless of where the soldier relocates, this program serves as a pre-apprenticeship program where they can continue on-the-job training until fully qualified as a journeyman. Graduates earn 19 college credits.
The Air Conditioning Technology program is a sequence of courses that prepares students for careers in the air conditioning industry. Learning opportunities develop academic, occupational, and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes a combination of air conditioning theory and practical application necessary for successful employment. Program includes 2 weeks of experiential learning with partner employers. Graduates have the qualifications of an air conditioning technician and are prepared to take industry qualification tests and will receive two (2) Technical Certificates of Credit, 24 college credits and the EPA Certification.
The Industrial Electrician technical program prepares students for careers as industrial system maintenance technicians. The program prepares students for employment using basic electrical maintenance skills. Students learn occupational areas of industrial safety, direct and alternating current principles, and industrial wiring. Students are trained in the maintenance of industrial motor controls. Topics include Direct Current and Alternating Current motors, basic, advanced, variable speed motor controls, and magnetic starters and braking. For those who complete this program, there is a guaranteed interview with Frito Lay (PepsiCo), the largest plant in the company located in middle Georgia, as well as opportunities at five other industrial manufacturing employers in the middle Georgia region. Regardless of where the Service member relocates, this program serves as a pre-apprenticeship program where they can continue both their degree and on-the-job training until fully qualified as a journeyman. Graduates earn 24 college credits.
The Welding and Joining Technology program is designed to prepare students for careers in the welding industry. Program learning opportunities develop technical, professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes welding theory and practical application necessary for successful employment. Program graduates have the qualifications of a welding and joining technician, are prepared to take industry qualification tests, and will receive three (3) Technical Certificates of Credit as follows - Basic Shielded Metal Arc Welder; Gas Metal Arc Welder; and Gas Tungsten Arc Welder, earning 24 college credits.
