The intern will job shadow and conduct on-the-job training of a Hearing Examiner 1 position in the following areas at the DOLWD building on Eagle Street: • How to conduct quasi-judicial administrative hearings.• Legal research and specifically how to resolve legal questions by applying agency decisions and, when appropriate, NLRB decisions, rules, and guidelines.• Conducting elections, investigating unfair labor practices and other petitions that are filed with the Agency.• The tenets of neutrality, the role of mediation in resolving labor relations disputes, and methods of conciliation. Duties may also include providing a variety of services to customers, including providing information, and referrals to other divisions and departments.The training required may be modified depending on the availability of required classes and workshops.
