Become a welder/fabricator, internship will teach intern to set up, operate, and fabricate metal products using a MIG or TIG welders, and laser machines. Interns who complete our program will be proficient at things such as: Manufacturing and fabricating finished metal products; Installing and repairing various equipment and components; Following blueprints to meet product specifications; Calculating material measurements to verify specifications; Conducting tests to evaluate weld quality and tolerance; Be able to identify different materials, finishes and grades; Be able to read prints and interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T); Proficient at using inspection equipment such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers; Be able to identify defects and nonconformance; Be able to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment safely; Follow processes as defined in procedures manual; Verify programs before cutting material

During the last week of this period the interns performance will be honestly evaluated and a possible job offer could be made depending on performance and the company’s needs. The Intern should expect to understand exactly where their future role with the company would be and how to complete the duties and assignments of that role in a satisfactory manner. If applicable Salary and benefits will be discussed and planned out carefully at this point.
