Over the course of this internship, the intern will learn how interpretation helps Washington State Parks achieve it's mission to 'connect all Washingtonians to a wide range of natural and cultural heritage and provide memorable recreational and educational experiences that enhance their lives.' Central Whidbey Area State Parks sees over 100,000 visitors annually and provides interpretive experiences for more than 20,000 of those visitors at the area's parks, including Ft Casey, Ft Ebey, Ebey's Landing and South Whidbey. Interns will work alongside more experienced staff to develop, implement, and evaluate formal and informal programs related to natural and cultural resources in the parks. With support of more experienced staff, develop, implement, and evaluate an interpretive program and/or special event of their own design. Support the successful running of any events.
