Lineman Training Program

Pike has opening in our Power Line Technician / Lineman training program. This program is available for 90-180 days. We prefer as much time as possible to train you and prepare you for a position on a crew building and maintaining power infrastructure for our utility customers. Pike is not an educational facility. We are an employer seeking to train and develop people who want to be linemen or linewomen at our company. Our goal is to train and retain you as employees after the training. We will place you with a crew in the area where you want to live when you transition so you can train with the people you will work with if you accept our offer of employment after the training is completed. Unlike lineman school, you are training with a real crew on an actual job site and developing relationships with your future coworkers. When you complete our training you can expect an offer of employment. You will typically be offered a position as a Groundman, Equipment Operator, or Truck Driver. These are all crew positions and are eligible to continue in our Department of Labor and Department of Veteran Affairs recognized Apprenticeship (Lineworker Development Program). While in the apprenticeship you are eligible to receive a housing allowance from your GI Bill. Our preferred training locations are Raleigh, NC; West Palm Beach, FL; Cumming, Marietta, and Monroe, GA; and Fort Worth, TX. Additionally, we can provide training at locations across our operating footprint in VA, NC, SC, GA, FL, KY, AL, and TX.
