The Heavy-Duty Diesel Roadside Mechanic is responsible for performing day-to-day roadside service operations, ensuring the safe, efficient diagnosis and repair of disabled commercial trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment. This role involves responding to emergency service calls, assessing mechanical and electrical failures, performing field repairs under varying conditions, and determining when towing or additional recovery services are required. The mechanic must follow all safety, DOT, and company procedures, accurately document labor, parts, and deviations for billing purposes, and maintain clear communication with dispatch and customers. The ideal candidate will have strong diesel diagnostic skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple service priorities in fast-paced and unpredictable roadside environments.
