Participants in this SkillBridge position are Auto Glass Technician Trainees, who support Auto Glass Technicians in their work, and through this on-the-job training, learn the skills needed to become Auto Glass Technicians themselves. Trainees will assist in replacing or repairing broken windshields and window glass in motor vehicles and equipment using proper tools and methods to ensure quality installation while following all Speedy Glass Safety Policies and Procedure Guidelines. The Auto Glass Technician – Trainee will help with Replacements, Auto Glass Repairs, safety glass installation, heating element replacement, keeping their work area clean and free of debris, and all other duties as assigned.
This SkillBridge program can lead to the Auto Glass Technician full-time position. Job duties for this position include the following: • Develop Damage Reports prior to the installation of all glass. • Remove all dirt, foreign matter and loose glass prior to installation of new glass. • Prime all scratches prior to installation of new glass. • Examine new product for damage or defects before removal of old glass. • Select appropriate tools, safety equipment and parts according to job requirements. • Replace all moldings, clips, windshield wipers, and any other parts removed during replacement or repair of glass. • Replace or adjust motorized or manual window raising mechanisms. • Responsible for the appearance of customer’s vehicle / equipment after installation of glass. • Complies with all safety policies and procedures. • All other duties as assigned by Management.
