Hero to Hero matches service members to existing first responder training academies, classes, and internships across the United States. Placements include training academies, classes, and practical experience in firefighting, law enforcement, or emergency medical services. Our goal is to enable you to make a seamless transition from the military to a civilian first responder career. We will match you with a partner in Fire, EMS, or Police for training. Upon successful completion, you should have a job offer and/or certification(s) to pursue a full-time career as a first responder. We currently have over 25 partners in 15 different states, and we are adding more every month. After you submit your application, if we do not have a partner organization for your geographic area, we will ask you to help us find a department that may want to work with us. We will provide you with guidance for this. Please visit our website for more information and to submit your application.
