The Mechanical Engineer-Valve Design supports the engineering and development of industrial valves and flow control equipment used in nuclear power applications, including Generation IV reactor programs, Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), and existing nuclear fleet operations in domestic and international markets. This role is responsible for supporting valve design activities from conceptual development through production release while ensuring compliance with applicable engineering, quality, and nuclear industry standards. The position requires technical knowledge of high-pressure and high-temperature steam and water systems, control valve performance, pressure boundary design, and mechanical analysis. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop practical, manufacturable, and technically compliant solutions within a highly regulated environment.

The Mechanical Engineer-Valve Design supports the engineering and development of industrial valves and flow control equipment used in nuclear power applications, including Generation IV reactor programs, Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), and existing nuclear fleet operations in domestic and international markets. This role is responsible for supporting valve design activities from conceptual development through production release while ensuring compliance with applicable engineering, quality, and nuclear industry standards. The position requires technical knowledge of high-pressure and high-temperature steam and water systems, control valve performance, pressure boundary design, and mechanical analysis. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop practical, manufacturable, and technically compliant solutions within a highly regulated environment. Eligibility factors:

Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, Space Force
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline. • Minimum of 2–3 years of engineering experience in industrial valve design, mechanical systems, or fluid control applications. • Experience designing valves or flow control equipment used in nuclear, fossil power, or high-energy fluid systems preferred. • Strong understanding of control valve fundamentals and steam/water flow applications. • Familiarity with pressure boundary calculations, mechanical analysis, and engineering evaluation methods preferred. • Working knowledge of ASME codes, nuclear quality standards, and regulated engineering environments preferred. • Experience generating engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills. • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. • Proficiency with engineering software, CAD systems, and standard Microsoft Office applications preferred.
