    Summary description:
    DesertClean Energy will provide prospective veterans with the opportunity to complete up to 69% of trade tasks required for a California State License Board C-46 Solar Installers contractor's license. Additionally, the curriculum will allow each service member to earn their OSHA 10-hour certification. The curriculum is broken up into five sections covering required trade skill topics for the C-46 license.
    Job description:
    Licensed C46 Contractor, Solar Installation Lead Technician, Solar Service Technician
    Course I: Planning & Estimation - 10%. Course to consist of ex: Site Evaluation, System design, Estimating, Job Costing, Customer Satisfaction, Paperwork, Plan sets, Permits, Photos, Job Cards, Communication. Course II: Labor Code/Safety - 14%. Course to consist of Safety Training ex: Protect Public from safety hazards, Identify unsafe working conditions, Hazardous material, Terminology, Ladders/Strapping, Harnesses/Anchor points, Weather Conditions, Job site Safety, Equipment/Material Handling, Tools/Trade Tools Required City/County NEC Codes, Placards, stickers, Labels Do's & Don'ts. Course III: System Installation - 35%. Course to consist of Installation of basic Solar PV system, Pool Heating, Domestic Hot Water Complete installation from Roof inspection to Installation of modules and or collectors. Mounting of stands, roof penetrations, Building of racking (multiple brands) Mounting of modules/collectors, Safety, Codes, Fire Codes, Ground/Electrical Main Panel evaluation, Breakers, Inverters, AC/DC, NEC codes, Placards, Stickers, Labels, System sizing & Stringing (MATH). Note - Does not include energy storage or battery back up. Monitoring/Mapping Laying out an electric system to be mapped, Installing of the monitoring components. Wifi & Hard wiring communication. Course IV: Service & Maintenance - 10%. Course to consist of ex: Evaluate PV, Thermal systems, Diagnose & Repair Troubleshooting. Course V: Conduit Bending/Wiring. Course to consist of ex: The art of bending conduit Codes, Conduit & Wire sizes/ pull, Safety, Labels. Not associated with task in CSLB licensing, however, and important job skill for all Solar PV installations.
