The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Metrocare
Intern will gain experience in providing assessment and treatment of mental health problems facing post-9/11 veterans of all branches, active-duty service members, individuals in the National Guard and Reserves, and their family members in a general mental health setting. Intern will be trained and receive consultation with clinic staff in providing evidence-based treatment such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Didactic training on relevant topics is also provided. Interns can gain experience with group treatment, couples, children, and families in addition to working with individual adults. At least 50 percent of the intern’s time is expected to be spent in face-to-face provision of clinical services. The remainder of the time is for learning activities and completing administrative needs. Intern’s schedule will be 40 hours per week, but days and hours are flexible within clinic hours of operation but should include Wednesdays from 11am-4pm and one evening , 5pm-8pm M-Th.
