Summary description:
Hiring Our Heroes is launching the HOH Skilled Trades Academy, a hands-on, skills-based pilot program. The inaugural cohort will be hosted in Jacksonville, North Carolina, just outside the gates of Camp Lejeune. This six-week, in-person training initiative—powered by Lowe’s Foundation—will equip transitioning service members, veterans, and military and veteran spouses with foundational skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and masonry. Designed as a direct pathway to in-demand careers, the program also introduces participants to small business ownership and provides professional development and networking opportunities. This is not just training—it’s an intentional bridge to meaningful employment, economic mobility, and long-term opportunity in the skilled trades.
