Cemetery Directors and Assistant Directors are the frontline leaders in the National Cemetery Administration (NCA). They play a critical role in the delivery of burial benefits and memorial programs services within NCA. They oversee the day-to-day operations of a national cemetery and are responsible for the operation and maintenance of national cemeteries as national shrines as well as the interment and memorialization of the Nation’s Veterans, service members and eligible family members.
