After the Service member completes the orientation and safety training, they will move into the construction and materials testing laboratory to learn about the materials testing industry. Once laboratory training is completed the intern will move into the field and be exposed to materials testing on active construction sites as well as special inspections. Upon completion of the internship, the intern will have the basic skills and certifications to begin a career on the Construction and Materials Engineering and Testing (CoMET) field.
Servicing water and wastewater treatment systems in industrial settings. Responsibilities include equipment preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, installations, ability to diagnose errors or technical issues and determine proper solution. Requires attention to detail, accuracy, good communication skills, and relationship building. General maintenance and plumbing skills required; electrical skills are an asset.
Day to day operations and maintenance of multiple water and wastewater facilities. Responsibilities include system monitoring, data recording and entry, sampling, treatment adjustments as directed, equipment preventative maintenance, and assist with repairs. Attention to detail, accuracy, good communication skills, and teamwork are a must. Position requires approximately 50% driving and 50% onsite work; a portion of the onsite work may be outdoors.
