Job description:
This position supports the management and maintenance of employee medical records, ensuring proper documentation of occupational health histories and incorporation of summary forms into medical files. The incumbent provides critical occupational health information to the Safety Manager and ensures the correct initiation, maintenance, and disposition of employee medical records. They contribute to epidemiological studies and maintain related files to support the District’s health monitoring efforts.Additionally, the role assists in establishing, implementing, and maintaining the District’s Medical Surveillance Program in coordination with the Chief of Safety and the National Occupational Health Center. The employee plans service levels, develops occupational health protocols, interprets regulations, and provides technical guidance. They serve on working groups to align program priorities with mission needs, recommend organizational improvements, oversee requisitioning of supplies and equipment, and prepare medical reports for higher headquarters. Continuous quality reviews ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of occupational health support throughout the District.

Must receive and maintain current certification by the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) within 18 months of employment. Must receive and maintain current certification by a NIOSH approved training program in spirometry techniques within 18 months of employment. Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued Registered Nurse (RN) license. Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a CPR Certificate within one year of employment. Must have or be able to obtain CPR teaching certificate within one year of employment. This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is, therefore, subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations. Applicants tentatively selected for appointment to this position as well as current employees, will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations. This position requires pre-employment and random drug testing. This position meets the criteria for random drug testing under the Department of Army Drug-Free Workplace Program as supplemented by USACE ER 690-1-1218. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019, Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified Critical under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program.
