The Tampa Police Department is excited to offer a SkillBridge program opportunity that will allow service members to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to start an exciting career in law enforcement. The selected service members will participate in a hybrid and flexible program based the members approved time and weeks left on the Skillbridge. The program may consist of an internship/ on the job training/ partial police academy training, etc,. Upon successful completion of the internship, the participant will be evaluated for an offer of employment as a police officer and transition to the police academy. Upon completion of the academy and passing the state exam, participant will obtain: State of Florida Certification as a law enforcement officer and become Tampa police officers.
