Telluride Adaptive Sports Program
The SkillBridge position at Telluride Adaptive Sports Program is an apprenticeship position that introduces and trains people in working with nonprofits as well as in adaptive outdoor recreational sports for people with disabilities. We work with people of all ages who have some life altering disability or wound. This position will be designed around what you are interested in and your skills but in general is split into several parts. The one focus will be supporting our adaptive military groups and participants, including helping to plan logistics, outcomes, communication with interested participants, and yourself participate in the activities with them (things like skiing/snowboarding, ice climbing, meals etc in the winter). The other part of the position will be working with non-military specific duties and clients like helping with administrative tasks and assisting in instructing for the general adaptive lessons. We will provide some training but prior experience is preferred. It is a great opportunity to work with a diverse group of people including directly with other military service members, learn about the operations of a small nonprofit, and learn skills in various outdoor sports in a beautiful location. This is a temporary winter only position for the allotted SkillBridge amount of time (up to 180 days) and is molded around a particular person's interests and skill sets.
