These laboratory test results are used for geotechnical analysis and report preparation to support the design of complex NRCS projects. Geotechnical testing with limited supervision will include gradation analysis, Atterberg limits, Standard Proctor density, and fine specific gravity to determine the soil and gravel properties of specific samples submitted to the Soil Mechanics Laboratory. Additional training will be provided on complex engineering property tests including triaxial shear, consolidation, unconfined compressive strength, and permeability.
