The Executive Officer serves as the principal advisor to the Commanding Officer (CO) on all matters pertaining to the unit's operations, administration, training, and readiness. The XO is responsible for managing the unit's day-to-day activities, coordinating staff efforts, and ensuring the effective execution of the CO's orders and directives. This is a challenging and demanding leadership position requiring exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Develop new skills and/or transition existing skills in aircraft launch and recovery, inspections, minor maintenance, and repairs by performing hands-on tasks under the guidance of skilled aircraft maintenance instructor and mechanics. Grow proficiencies in identifying general familiarization of aircraft and aircraft systems, applying safety precautions, aircraft egress safety, aircraft ground handling, aircraft fuel servicing, flight control systems, landing gear systems, aircraft inspections, and aircraft forms and MIS documentation procedures.
