The Hideaway Club Bartender SkillBridge Program is a structured, full-time internship providing hands-on experience in bar service, hospitality operations, and morale-based event support within a Coast Guard-owned food and beverage establishment. This program equips transitioning service members with the foundational and advanced skills required to thrive in the food and beverage industry, including customer interaction, mixology, inventory control, POS operation, event execution, and team leadership.Our training model reflects real-world restaurant and bar operations and includes both day-to-day service and participation in special morale events, tournaments, and private functions. Graduates of this program will have a fully transferrable skill set applicable to bars, restaurants, hospitality venues, or entrepreneurial ventures.
Program OverviewThe Hideaway Club Line Cook and Culinary Support SkillBridge Program provides transitioning service members with comprehensive, hands-on training in back-of-house kitchen operations within a morale-focused Coast Guard food and beverage facility. This culinary-focused training plan equips participants with the skills necessary to manage small-scale kitchen prep, cooking, sanitation, food safety compliance, and high-volume service during bar operations and morale events. Graduates will gain the culinary fundamentals and operational confidence required for employment in restaurants, food trucks, catering businesses, or entrepreneurial ventures in the food service industry.
The Maintenance & Facilities Worker SkillBridge Program provides transitioning service members with practical experience in hands-on repairs, light construction, venue upkeep, and improvement projects at the Hideaway Club — a Coast Guard morale facility. This training is ideal for participants seeking careers in facility maintenance, general contracting, construction support, base housing services, or DIY home renovation.Participants will engage in a variety of fixer-upper projects including bar/kitchen improvements, painting, signage installation, furniture repair, and aesthetic upgrades aligned with the club’s 1950s Hawaiian vintage theme.
