Carnation Farms
The program is designed to give participants first hand experience operating on a regenerative organic certified farm. Each day the Production Manager will provide training and education on regenerative agriculture practices with hands-on experience. They will gain knowledge and experience in what it takes to run a regenerative organic farm from every angle. During the week, time will be set aside for participants to interact with mentors from across the industry. In addition, Carnation Farms has a fully operational farm stand, livestock program, event space, and culinary enterprise. The diverse nature of the farm will allow participants to experience different aspects of the food and agriculture space. Participants will receive mentorship from experienced leaders and become part of the Carnation Farms family network upon graduation. We are continuously growing the network to provide additional opportunities for our veteran partners.****Certifications*****Produce Safety Training - Produce Safety AllianceBeing The Employer of Choice - Illinois State University****Potential Educational Opportunities (based on time of year)****Tenacious Farmer ExchangeWashington Farm Land TrustJames Beard Foundation Advocacy Group - educating chefs about the farm billSnoValley Tilth Events and ClassesChance to listen in to the Farmpreneur****Graduate Benefits****Access to a trusted network of farmers, markets, mentors, and food system partnersAttendance at Tilth Alliance Conference in NovemberFully paid one-year land lease at local SnoValley Tilth to begin farming or test a business concept Ability to sell back into the Carnation Farms supply chainDuring the program you may realize farming is not for you, and that is OK.
