ECU Health Medical Center has achieved Magnet® designation twice and provides acute and intermediate care, rehabilitation and outpatient health services to a 29-county region that is home to more than 1.4 million people.ECU Health strives to be a high reliability organization (HRO). HROs are mindful organizations with the capability to perform to the highest standard consistently over time using principles of anticipation and principles of containment to prevent, detect, and correct unexpected events. ECU Health builds and sustains high reliability through safety habits, safety huddles, leader connections and follow up that provide opportunities to foster engagement with two way, transparent communication to develop and sustain authentic "power with" relationships. Leaders and team member's thoughts and actions reflect the understanding that how we structure relationships with each other and our patients is the key to living our mission, vision and values. This embodies the Big E Experience; that how we experience each other is how our patients and families experience us. Through living and modeling our values we will achieve the quadruple aim: providing exceptional and affordable care for healthier communities while attending to the well-being of our teams. These practices are intended to achieve excellence for patients, team members, and the communities we serve.
