Over the course of the full 180-day program the Operational Technology Intern will: 1. Learn the basics of processes and procedures in Operational Technology and rotate among Telecommunication, Distribution Management Systems, Apparatus and Metering. Train in Operational Technology roles including the Apparatus Technician, Metering Technician, and SCADA Technician, and learn to operate and maintain related equipment. In addition to the rotation through the departments within Operational Technology, the intern will learn the basics of Electric Transmission and Distribution Systems, Basic concepts of Electricity, Alternating Current Fundamentals, Multimeter Operation, Introduction to Metering, Safety in Meter Work, Setting a Three Wire and Four Wire Meter, Replacing RD or R4 351R Relay Cube, Relay Programming, Changing our R2 351R Relay Cube and Fundamental of Telecommunications. See that tools and working equipment are properly used and kept in good working order and that any required repairs are promptly reported to the assigned Supervisor. Learn modern methods of fire safety and to be able to perform first aid and artificial respiration. Study and review other instructional guidelines to complete educational requirements/modules for the first six months outlined in the specifications for this position. Be familiar with and follow the best safety practices set forth in the Cooperative's Safety Manual. Perform other related work of this or any other classification requiring equal or lesser skill when assigned by the supervisor. During the internship, Operational Technology Interns will complete the following educational modules. First Aid, Maintain First Aid Kit, Housekeeping, Inspect Fire Extinguisher, Communicate with Mobile Radio, Load and Secure Materials, Use Hand Signals to Direct Vehicles, Setup of Ladders, Entry Level Driver Training, Intro to Transmission and Distribution Systems, Transmission, Distribution, Basic Electricity Review, Alternating Current Fundamentals, Multimeter Operation, Introduction to Metering, Safety in Meter Work, Set a Three Wire and Four Wire Meter & Replacing R2 or R4 351R Relay Cube, Relay Programming, Changing out R2 351R Relay Cube. Each module contains specific related skills competencies.
