The Civil Engineer SkillBridge opportunity at Easton Utilities provides transitioning service members with hands-on experience in civil engineering within a municipal utility environment. Participants will support engineering functions related to the planning, design, and construction oversight of utility infrastructure, including electric, water, wastewater, and gas systems.Throughout the program, the trainee will engage in site investigations, assist with technical design and engineering calculations, and utilize industry-standard software to develop and review plans and specifications. The role includes exposure to project management practices such as budgeting, scheduling, permitting, and contractor coordination, as well as collaboration with internal teams, external professionals, and local agencies including the Town of Easton.Emphasis is placed on safety, attention to detail, communication, and teamwork, while reinforcing Easton Utilities’ core values of Integrity, Commitment, and Excellence. By the end of the program, participants will have developed foundational engineering and project management skills, preparing them for a transition into a full-time Civil Engineer role and progression toward professional licensure (EIT/PE).
