The position enables direct engagement in key state initiatives, including the statewide transfer strategy, providing hands-on experience in public administration and educational reform. Over the internship, the Associate Intern will be involved in several high-impact initiatives, including the implementation of CPE’s updated strategic plan, the execution of new workforce development programs, and enhancements to the state’s transfer policies. One of the primary challenges will be navigating the evolving postsecondary landscape while addressing gaps in educational access and aligning programs with the demands of the workforce.
Job description:
The Associate Intern position is essential to supporting the CPE’s mission of continuous improvement in higher education. This role provides critical support for policy analysis, workforce development initiatives, and strategic projects aimed at enhancing student access and success. The intern will contribute to the development and implementation of statewide educational policies, working closely with senior leaders to ensure CPE's strategic goals are met. This role is critical in advancing programs that align education with the needs of Kentucky's economy, supporting initiatives that foster a highly skilled workforce, and driving improvements in student outcomes.
Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products, as well as related professional software and office tools, is critical for this role. Advanced development skills in Excel and PowerPoint are highly desirable. High customer service, customer advocacy, collaboration, dealing with ambiguity, and planning Adult Learner and Student Success outcomes are also critical.
