American Board for Certification of Teacher Excellence

American Board is a nonprofit teacher certification program dedicated to placing qualified individuals in the classroom quickly and efficiently. American Board's program is entirely online and self-paced, offering teacher certification in a variety of critical-needs subject areas. Designed for career changers, the program is flexible and affordable, offering a path to teacher certification and licensure without requiring that candidates return to school or take on debt. Notably, American Board is considered the lowest cost certification program and, proudly, American Board reserves the absolute lowest rate for Military Veterans and their spouses.

American Board's SkillBridge program leads directly to teacher licensure in 15 states.

To be eligible for American Board's SkillBridge program, candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university. Three states (MS, MO, and OH) require a specific GPA minimum; the other states require only the degree. Additionally, candidates must pass a standard background check.
