Job description:
The Attack Engineer role focuses on developing and maintaining offensive security capabilities within NodeZero's automated penetration testing platform. In this position, participants will write Python-based attack modules that simulate real-world adversary tactics, research emerging vulnerabilities and exploitation techniques including 1-day exploit development and reverse engineering, and develop automated exploit chains and attack workflows. The role involves close collaboration with the engineering team to integrate new attack capabilities into production, as well as testing and validating attack scenarios in controlled environments. Attack Engineers contribute to platform architecture and data models, monitor threat intelligence sources and vulnerability databases for emerging threats, and document research findings while creating technical content to showcase their work.Candidates should possess strong Python development skills and a solid understanding of network protocols and system architecture. Knowledge of common vulnerabilities, particularly those documented in the OWASP and MITRE ATT&CK frameworks, is essential.
