Summary description:

Cavalry Engineering is seeking a Construction Management Assistant to support the Resident Engineer with the daily administration and coordination of construction activities at an active job site. This position offers hands on exposure to the construction industry and an opportunity to learn about engineering, construction management, and the various consultant disciplines involved in project delivery.The Construction Management Assistant will work closely with field personnel, contractors, engineers, inspectors, consultants, and project stakeholders. Under the direction of the Resident Engineer, the employee will assist with field documentation, project coordination, communication, recordkeeping, and general construction administration.

Job description:

Responsibilities-Assist the Resident Engineer with daily field and administrative activities.-Observe construction operations and become familiar with construction methods, materials, plans, specifications, and project requirements.-Coordinate with contractors, inspectors, engineers, consultants, field personnel, and other project representatives.-Assist with preparing daily reports, field notes, meeting minutes, progress photographs, correspondence, and other project documentation.-Maintain organized records of project activities, including submittals, requests for information, schedules, reports, and construction documents.-Attend project meetings, site walks, and coordination discussions as requested.-Track project information, outstanding items, and required follow up under the direction of the Resident Engineer.-Learn about the responsibilities and coordination requirements of civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and other engineering and consultant disciplines.-Follow all project safety requirements and maintain professional conduct while working on the job site.-Perform additional construction management and project support duties as assigned.

-High school diploma or equivalent required. Coursework or a degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.-Interest in learning about construction, engineering, and project management.-Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.-Ability to work collaboratively with contractors, engineers, consultants, inspectors, and field personnel.-Basic computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft preferred but not mandatory.-Willingness to work in both field and office environments.-Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required based on the project location.
