Responsible for successful execution of their specific scope on a project. Taking concepts developed by the Project Team and developing systems for completion. Successful completion of their specific scope includes work schedule management as well as accurate design, documentation, and specification. Specific standards comply with SES processes and quality standards. The Electrical Engineer will design electrical building systems for specialty healthcare, government, and other highly technical building facilities. Systems include power, lighting, and/or low voltage systems. This position includes project engineering design and construction administration of local, regional, and national projects and working directly with Owners, Architects, and an Engineering Team. The Engineer will be responsible for successful execution of Electrical Engineering within a project from acquisition and concept through occupancy, and provide continued client support.
Roles and Responsibilities: 1. Work with Principals, Associate Principals, Project Managers, and Project Engineers to identify scope and intent. 2. Work with Chief Engineers and/or Associate Principals to ensure design tasks are completed per SES Standards. 3. Work with the BIM Administrator/Manager to develop and improve BIM Standards and Practices. 4. Integrate into the Project Team, and manage the schedule and resources to produce designs on time. 5. Take their specific scope to 100% completion for quality review. 6. Occasionally represent the Design Team at project meetings with the Owner or client. 7. Coordinate design tasks with other members of the team and outside consultants. 8. Verify tasks comply with the Basis of Design and project Meeting Minutes. 9. Execute and contribute to the development of checklists. 10. Attend construction meetings, and conduct site observations and produce punch lists. 11. Regularly participate in external and internal training and continuing education. 12. Mentor technicians and interns. 13. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Skills and Experience: 1. University degree in Engineering; EIT preferred or 2-year degree and 5-years industry experience. 2. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office Software. 3. Proficiency in industry software.
