Summary description:
Intern will be presented with the opportunity to gain an understanding and obtain personal experience participating in the DOD and Department of the Navy staff action officer process. The intern will coordinate high-priority, time-sensitive actions throughout DOD and the Federal Government culminating in the creation, staffing, and approval of numerous secretariat-level staffing packages. Additionally, the intern will obtain a comprehensive understanding of ISD risk analysis and mitigation strategies in support of the National Defense Strategy and the SECNAV Business Operations Plan.
Job description:
Intern will become well-versed and highly proficient in conducting Due Diligence assessments. They will apply their analytical techniques, oral communication, problem solving, and written communication skills to create and enhance complex initiatives and plans, utilized throughout the USG. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing and analyzing a variety of Signature Reduction plans and products; planning and analyzing the integration of Signature Reduction activities into organizational operations/strategies; AND conducting Signature Reduction-related assessments for internal and external process improvement.
Department of the Navy (DON), Deputy Under Secretary of the Navy (DUSN), Integration Support Directorate (ISD) exercises purview of DON sensitive activities. This internship is most suitable to separating/retiring active duty Navy and Marine Corps members with specific training and experience in Aviation, Civil Engineering, Intelligence, Science & Technology, Special Operations, Strategy, Submarine Warfare, and/or Surface Warfare, but all separating/retiring active duty members with comparable training/experience and a TS/SCI security clearance are welcome to apply. Schedule: M-F 0600-1430. Travel Required: 25% or less - You may be expected to travel for this position.
