Job description:
The Field Operations & Property Management Trainee works alongside the Sid Was Here operations team to keep properties running at a high standard across the company’s Coastal Georgia portfolio. This is a boots-on-the-ground, field-based role — not a desk job. The candidate will conduct property walkthroughs and condition inspections, assemble and install furniture, execute decor and refresh projects, run errands and supply purchases, and handle the day-to-day logistics that keep properties guest-ready and ownership informed. All work is coordinated through and reported to Chandler Newman, Director of Operations. The candidate will not interact directly with property owners or guests. Over the course of the 16-week program, the candidate will be exposed to the full arc of a real estate property management operation — from single-family STRs to commercial assets — and will develop the field skills, systems knowledge, and professional judgment to pursue a career in real estate operations or brokerage.
Core ResponsibilitiesConduct property walkthroughs and condition inspections across the Sid Was Here portfolio, documenting findings with photos and written reportsPerform minor in-property repairs and maintenance tasks including tightening hardware, replacing door stops, and identifying issues that require contractor escalationOperate property management software, booking platforms, task tracking systems, and reporting tools under the guidance of the operations teamCommunicate professionally with property owners and tenants — managing expectations, relaying information accurately, and representing Sid Was Here with professionalism at every interactionExecute field errands and supply runs as needed to support property operations and guest readinessAssist the operations team with decor projects, furniture installation, and property refresh assignmentsSubmit accurate, complete end-of-day field reports through the designated company systemRequired QualificationsActive duty or transitioning military member eligible for the DoD SkillBridge program with command approvalValid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle — role covers properties across the Savannah metro areaBasic handyman competency — comfortable using standard hand tools and able to handle minor in-property repairs without supervisionGeneral understanding of property repairs — able to distinguish between issues that can be handled in the field and those requiring a licensed contractorProfessional, customer-friendly communication style — comfortable speaking directly with property owners and tenantsAbility to work independently in the field and manage a task list without step-by-step directionDesired QualificationsInterest in real estate investing or property management as a careerPrior experience with basic home maintenance, construction, or facilities work in any setting
