Job description:
BAE Systems is seeking active-duty service members approved to participate in the DoW SkillBridge Program for an Electronics Technician training opportunity supporting the DDG Radio communication suit(RCS) in Saint Inigoes, MD.This SkillBridge training program is designed to provide hands-on experience in electronics testing, troubleshooting, assembly, documentation, and sustainment activities supporting Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division-Webster Outlying Field. Participants will train alongside experienced BAE Systems personnel while gaining practical exposure to RCS systems, technical documentation, quality processes, lab operations, and fleet support activities.This opportunity is best suited for service members with a technical background in electronics, electrical systems, avionics, radar, communications, shipboard systems, aviation systems, maintenance, or related military technical fields.What You’ll LearnDuring the program, participants will receive structured training and practical experience in areas such as:- Install, maintain, and repair radio communication systems, including antennas, transmitters, receivers, and associated equipment- Hands-on lab troubleshooting using sample equipment and practical fault-isolation scenarios- RF cabling, cable weatherproofing, connector fabrication, assembly, and testing- Electronics test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, megohmmeters, torque screwdrivers, synchro testers, and Anritsu SiteMaster equipment- Safety, quality assurance, electrostatic discharge practices, and quality management system fundamentals- Work instructions, technical manuals, test procedures, inspection reports, trip reports, QA workbooks, and travel/expense documentation- Reading and interpreting NAVSEA ship installation drawings and related referencesTraining EnvironmentParticipants will train in a hands-on technical environment with exposure to both classroom-style instruction and practical lab application. The program is designed to build familiarity with the tools, documentation, processes, and technical expectations associated with an Electronics Technician role supporting Navy mission systems.Skills You’ll Develop- Electronics troubleshooting and fault isolation- RCS system operation and sustainment- Lab-based equipment testing and evaluation- Cable, connector, and electronics assembly processes- Technical documentation and reporting- Quality assurance and inspection practices- Reading technical drawings, work instructions, and maintenance documentation- Supporting fleet modernization, overhaul, installation, assessment, and certification activities- Working in a team-based technical environment supporting mission-critical systemsProgram NoteThis is an unpaid DoW SkillBridge training opportunity. Participants remain active-duty service members and continue receiving military pay and benefits through their respective service branch. Completion of the program may support consideration for future employment based on business needs, participant performance, qualifications, and available opportunities.Program OutcomeUpon completion of the program, participants should have a stronger working knowledge of RCS systems, electronics testing, troubleshooting, assembly processes, technical documentation, quality practices, and fleet support activities. The goal of the training is to prepare participants for potential transition into an Electronics Technician or similar technical role supporting BAE Systems mission requirements.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills :- Must be an active-duty service member eligible and approved to participate in the DoW SkillBridge Program- Must have command approval to participate in SkillBridge- Technical background in electronics, electrical systems, avionics, radar, communications, shipboard systems, aviation systems, maintenance, or a related military technical field- Ability to read and follow technical manuals, drawings, work instructions, or maintenance documentation- Basic understanding of troubleshooting, testing, repair, or maintenance of electronic systems- Ability to follow safety, quality, and documentation requirements- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn complex technical systems- Ability to work in a hands-on lab or technical environment- Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a teamPreferred Education, Experience, & Skills :- Experience with DDG RCS, radar, aviation electronics, shipboard electronics, combat systems, or related military systems- Experience with test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators- Familiarity with computer-based maintenance management systems- Knowledge of networking protocols and architectures- Experience with satellite communication systems- Certification in electronics or communications technology, such as FCC GMDSS or ETA International
