Iowa Corn Processors Maintenance Mechanic: Essential Job Functions – Responsibilities and Regular Duties Include: Plant Operation • Maintenance Tech is responsible for PM and break down repairs in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturer’s specifications, machinery, and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machines and equipment. • Needs to know motor and control circuits pertaining to plant operation. • Understand electrical equipment maintenance and repair. May include running conduit and wiring. • Observes mechanical devices in operation and can troubleshoot issues as they arise to help eliminate sources of downtime or process upset. • Able to dismantle devices to gain access to repair and/or remove defective parts. • Lubricates and cleans parts. • Be able to use various maintenance tools including, but not limited to using hand tools, power tools and precision-measuring and testing instruments, drill press, grinder, welder, and other metal working tools to fabricate new and repair old parts. • Works with and on compressed air systems, steam generation and consumption systems, components, and equipment • Suggest improvements they think can be made in any aspect of operations.
