Job description:
The dental office employee SkillBridge participant will complete supervised, hands-on training within an active dental practice. Training may include chairside dental assisting, sterilizAtion and infection control, patient scheduling, records management, insurance verification, dental billing, treatment coordination, patient communication, office systems, HIPAA and OSHA compliance, dealership development, and carrier readiness preparation. Participants will rotate through clinical and administrative responsibilities based on their experience, career goals, training needs, and applicable California dental regulations. No previous dental experience is required. The program is designed to help service members transition to civilian opportunities such as a Dental assistant, front office coordinator, insurance and billing specialist, Treatment Coordinator, or Dental Practice Operation team member.
No direct cost to the service member. Training and required instructional materials are provided by Mission Family Dental. Participants receive hands-on experience in clinical and administrative dental practice operations.
Eligibility factors:
All Services
Must be eligible for Skillbridge participation and have received approval from the service member's military command. Must be available for up to 24 weeks of in-person training in San Diego, California. Strong communication, professionalism, reliability, basic computer skills, and an interest in dental practice operations are preferred. No previous dental experience is required.
