Vets RISE: Electronics Systems Technician

The Electronics Systems Technician supports field and depot operations by diagnosing, repairing, and testing electronic components, sensors, and system assemblies to restore equipment to full operational status — a critical role in high-demand technical maintenance industries where veterans are uniquely positioned to strengthen equipment reliability and readiness. This role emphasizes failure-mode diagnosis, precision repair and testing, standard test-procedure compliance, and maintenance-log accuracy. In these efforts, a successful Electronics Systems Technician ensures repairs meet specification, equipment is returned to service quickly, and documentation withstands government inspection. The Vets RISE program specifically leverages the technical aptitude, precision, and systems-troubleshooting discipline developed during military service. Participation in the Electronics Systems Technician SkillBridge Fellowship will focus on electronic component diagnostics, repair, and testing. The participant will also gain hands-on experience with test equipment, maintenance logging, failure-mode analysis, and standard test-procedure compliance.The training plan for this program combines live instruction, walk-through demonstrations, and project-based knowledge applications managed by a designated supervisor. If remote participation is required to accommodate a participant’s military service or geographic constraints, at least 50% of the training will be delivered in a live-synchronous manner to ensure engagement and accountability. Training includes structured weekly goal-setting sessions with clearly defined, measurable learning objectives aligned to civilian electronics maintenance and systems repair competencies.
