Summary description:
SCADA Systems Program: The candidate will learn to perform entry level technical support of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system network, hardware, software, and communication systems, to include: (1) Designing, developing, programing, and modifying Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and other SCADA system graphical user interfaces. (2) Evaluating and analyzing functional area related processes, procedures, and workflow to determine the feasibility of different technology options and solutions to meet requirements. (3) Researching, developing, testing, evaluating and installing new control system programming code. (4) Resolving SCADA system operational problems for users in the Division. (5) Developing procedures manual and related forms to ensure smooth SCADA system operations. (6) Participating in the installation, configuration, troubleshooting and repair of the telemetry system. (7) Installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting SCADA network operating systems, servers, and application software. (8) Troubleshooting utility operational problems to improve and enhance process control system automation in order to effectively monitor, evaluate, and adjust utility operations. (9) Installing, configuring, and maintaining SCADA network communications systems in accordance with FCC regulations, and utilizing appropriate communications protocols. This includes, but is not limited to, two-way radio, TCP/IP, Ethernet, fiber optic, serial 485/232, Modbus, and/or Foundation Fieldbus data transmission systems. Other Requirements: Physical Demands & Work Environment: Most work is performed in a treatment plant/field setting, with occasional work done in an office environment. PPE provided - May be exposed to harsh substances; be exposed to foul odors within acceptable ranges/levels; work in confined spaces; ascend and descend ladders up to 50 feet in height; wear protective apparel including, but not limited to, goggles, face protectors, aprons, fall protection, shoes and a respirator, as required by OSHA standards. Work Schedule: The City's normal working hours are 8am to 5pm Monday - Friday, though Water Resources Department has a flexible work schedule dependent upon operational needs. The City should be able to work around the needs of the Service member's schedule.
Job description:
SCADA Systems Specialist provides high level technical support of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, hardware, software, and data communication works. Develops control system programming using International Electric Code (IEC) standard programming languages for industrial automation (IEC 61131-3).
