In addition, the intern will receive a signed verification letter, utilizing DD FORM 2950-1, from the Installation SARC. This letter will serve to formally confirm and document the intern's experience in victim advocacy during their tenure in the program
All Interns will perform functions that model a full-time SAPR victim advocate and receive expert mentoring, supervision, and management of daily task assignments under the direct guidance of a certified Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC). During their internship, the individual will adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and victim-centered approach, acquiring practical experience to enhance their understanding and response capabilities in crisis intervention techniques, community resources, and the complexities of sexual assault/sexual harassment. This will equip them with the essential knowledge, protocols and procedures, and resources needed to empower them in effectively assisting and supporting survivors of sexual assault/sexual harassment, offering trauma-informed support and advocacy by guiding them through the confidential reporting process, gaining access to healthcare, legal options, and other critical resources.
