Summary description:
This developmental position in Alaska's State Office, Division of Support Services, and Branch of Business Services. The position is responsible for performing recurring/well precedented technical and administrative duties in the areas of Freedom of Information Act and (FOIA), Privacy Act. The trainee in this position will take FOIA and other courses to learn the FOIA laws, processes, responsibilities, and processing procedures and perform duties as assigned by the FOIA Officer and/or FOIA Professional in order to prepare them to perform work at the full performance level.
Job description:
Government Information Specialist - The incumbent reviews relatively straightforward and limited Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, performs extensive information searches, reviews records, and develops responses to FOIA requests; and provides information to the Department’s FOIA Officer, and the Solicitor’s Office, including the Department’s FOIA Appeals Officer, upon request.
U.S Citizenship is required. Appointment will be subject to a favorably adjudicated background/suitability investigation/determination.
