Summary description:
SBCC aims to bridge the gap between commercial innovation development and national security requirements. The purpose of the program is to support defense members in their transition from the military into the commercial space, and to drive an understanding and passion towards the necessity of a a fusion of the commercial and defense industrial base. Interns will have the opportunity to work within the Commercial Capabilities Integration Hub (CCIH) to transition critical commercial tech into the defense market, and will also get to engage directly with dozens of incredible technology companies who are expanding their business approach to include the defense market.
Job description:
The role will mirror that of a systems engineer (SETA) and technical assistance and/or advisory and assistance services (A&AS) effort to support air force major commands in adopting commercial best practices for requirements development to include methodologies such as the Delphi method, design thinking, and customer discovery. Additionally, interns will help support execution of the Commercial Capabilities Integration Hub, which conducts commercial outreach, business and technology vetting, coaching and business consulting, and trusted teaming to enable the integration of technology into the national security enterprise.
Our program is well suited to Acquisition, Contracting, and Finance Officers and AF Venture Fellows, however all prior military personnel are welcome! We are happy to introduce new faces to this space and grow the excitement in the field, and we always derive value from operational experience of any kind!
