Classroom training is conducted with an instructor in a traditional classroom setting and an electrical testing lab. Field experiences are conducted on the job under a Field Service supervisor.
Job description:
Field Service Technicians are responsible for performing preventative maintenance, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair of high voltage electrical systems for customers across the United States. Technicians must be willing to work independently or part of a team in field environments. This position requires travel, with jobs typically lasting 1-3 weeks (no more than 4 weeks in one location) at a time. It is not a traditional 9-5 and might require some overtime and weekends.
The goal of this program is to assist talented service members with the transition into civilian employment. The electrical services industry is rapidly expanding and the skills acquired here will allow a technician achieve satisfactory employment and compensation anywhere in the US.
Eligibility factors:
All Services
Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record Ability to pass a drug test at any time Physically fit enough to lift up to 50 lbs, carry equipment, kneel, climb, and walk long distances if needed. Basic computer skills that include email, Microsoft Excel and Word, Adobe Reader, Dropbox, etc.
