Job description:
The trainee will receive mentor-led, hands-on instruction in field service technician duties related to STG systems. Training includes safety orientation, field-service expectations, STG component familiarization, troubleshooting methods, operation of laser alignment equipment, turbine/gearbox/generator inspection, operation of STG systems for testing and inspection, instrumentation and control-system checks, customer-site documentation, and other duties as assigned.
There is no tuition, training fee, equipment fee, certification fee, or program participation fee charged to the Service member. This opportunity consists of supervised on-the-job training provided by Scott Equipment Services. Any required training instruction, mentor oversight, and supervised OJT activities will be provided as part of the program.
Eligibility factors:
Applicants should be eligible for DoD SkillBridge participation and must have command approval before starting the program. Applicants should have an interest in mechanical, electrical, industrial power-generation, rotating-equipment, maintenance, troubleshooting, or field-service work.Applicants must be able to follow safety procedures, use required PPE, comply with customer-site rules, communicate professionally, document work accurately, and participate in supervised shop, field, or customer-site training. Training may involve standing, walking, climbing stairs or ladders where authorized, working around industrial equipment, lifting within safe limits, and traveling to customer/project sites as required.Prior military technical experience is helpful but not required. A valid driver’s license is preferred and may be required depending on travel or customer-site requirements. Participation remains subject to SES training capacity, safety requirements, customer-site access requirements, and approved SkillBridge dates.
