Mentoring and skills development will be provided and encouraged. The Water Department seeks to develop Graduate Engineers into future upper-level engineering and management positions. Job description:
The Graduate Engineer's job responsibilities include:• Be proactive in communicating with the community and remaining organized• Perform analysis using water and wastewater modeling programs• Assist in the evaluation of water and sewer engineering studies submitted for potential developments within the City of Fort Worth.• Analyze water-related data from SCADA and billing systems• Update hydraulic models using available GIS, SCADA, and other data• Research as-built plan sets to answer infrastructure questions• Support contract development for wholesale customers and developers• Population growth estimation and spatial allocation• Prepare maps for discussions and presentations• Other related duties as requiredMinimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or related field• No experience required• Valid Driver’s LicensePreferred Qualifications:• Two (2) years or more experience in the design, construction, or operation of water or sewer systems.• Ability to compute hydraulic capacity and energy loss with a calculator or spreadsheet• Fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel• Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle many small tasks with deadlines
