Columbia Metropolitan Airport - Richland-Lexington Airport District

Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) offer opportunity for internship training throughout various departments within the airport. CAE will provide introductory knowledge and skills of Human Resource Management as daily task may include posting jobs, reviewing resumes, filing records, sitting in on interviews, organizing employee moral events, etc. Interns may also learn Marketing and Air Service Deployment techniques as they will assist in advertising and promotional efforts, building and growing our social media platform and strengthening our community relationships. Interns will also have an opportunity to work in our Airport Operations department, inspecting runways and aircraft movement areas, learning about CFR Part 139 regulations, supporting the airport security program and interacting with airport tenants. Interns can also work with our Grounds/Facility Maintenance staff performing various tasks such as small building repairs, troubleshooting issues, performing preventative maintenance on airport grounds and airfield facilities and infrastructure. CAE will also provide opportunity for interns to work with our Accounting department as they will be assigned various tasks and projects such as preparing invoice and expense reports, analyzing financial data, budgeting, file documentation and administrative support. Interns may also work for our Planning and Support team as they strategically plan and execute large construction projects and future developments in and around airport properties. Interns can also work closely with our Public Safety department as they will assist and learn how to manage an effective airport security program that ensures a safe and secure environment by complying with applicable regulations, laws, and codes. Our Public Safety officers are dual-qualified in both Police Force and Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting certifications.
