The purpose of Atlanta Restaurant Services' proposed SkillBridge program is to offer a unique opportunity for transitioning Service members to learn valuable trade skills in the civilian workforce. Training personnel in a wide variety of skills that include but not limited to journeyman plumber, HVAC technician, Refrigeration technician, installation and repair/maintenance. During the program the Service member will be able to choose which path they desire and will be paired up with a team of highly skilled and motivated technicians that will train and mentor the transitioning service member to become a fully capable technician; with the opportunity for full employment at the completion of the SkillBridge program.

Apprentice Plumber: The responsibilities of an Apprentice Plumber include assembling pipes, cleaning the water supply, handling tools, and cleaning job sites. The Apprentice Plumber can expect to assist in complex jobs and handle smaller jobs on their own. Successful apprentice plumber will be well-organized and detail-oriented. You should have good customer service skills, be able and willing to follow instructions, and be prepared to travel to clients' job sites to complete your work. With the option to grow into Journeyman and Master Plumber. Apprentice HVAC Technician: The responsibilities of the HVAC helper include performing routine maintenance, replacing parts, repairing machinery, and furnishing the HVAC technicians with tools, materials, and supplies. To be successful as an HVAC helper, you should have a strong working knowledge of HVAC systems as well as the tools related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of these systems. Ultimately, a top-notch HVAC helper should be physically fit, good with their hands, and able to effectively follow instructions. Willing to grow into fully qualified HVAC Technician capable of working on HVAC equipment. Apprentice Electrician: The electrician apprentice's responsibilities include completing all tasks assigned by the master electrician, which may include assisting with installations, troubleshooting, repairs, and calibrations of electrical systems and equipment. You should be eager to learn and able to follow instructions. To be successful as an electrician apprentice, you should demonstrate good time management and customer service skills. Outstanding candidates are highly analytical, observant, and have sound knowledge of safety protocols. Refrigeration Technician: As a refrigeration technician, you will be responsible for installing new refrigeration systems, troubleshooting mechanical failures, and performing equipment maintenance. Once fully trained you may also be required to advise on equipment upgrades and alternate cooling units. To ensure success as a refrigeration technician, you will learn advanced knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems, good mechanical skills, and excellent troubleshooting skills. Ultimately, a top-class refrigeration technician expertly installs, repairs, and maintains refrigeration equipment for a client with the least amount of down-time. Must be willing to learn and grow into fully capable Refrigeration Tech capable of diagnosing and repairing equipment.
