Job description:
This is a hands on technical internship for transitioning service members seeking to build a career in infrastructure, networking, and electronic security systems.Interns will work alongside experienced technicians and system leads, gaining real world exposure to installation, troubleshooting, documentation, and client facing professionalism.By completion, participants should be capable of supporting installation projects with minimal supervision within defined scopes.Core ResponsibilitiesUnder supervision, interns will assist with:• Pulling, labeling, and supporting structured cabling including Cat5e, Cat6, coax, and fiber• Terminating and testing copper cabling• Installing access control devices and IP surveillance equipment• Supporting wireless system deployments• Assisting with rack buildouts and cable management• Basic troubleshooting of voice and data systems• Job site documentation and as built developmentSkills and AttributesNo prior low voltage experience required. Military experience in communications, electronics, information technology, or construction trades is a plus.Ideal candidates demonstrate:• Mechanical aptitude and comfort with tools• Discipline and accountability• Interest in networking and security systems• Professional communication skills• Ability to work effectively in team based environments

Commercial buildings, government facilities, and critical infrastructure increasingly require properly installed and maintained systems including structured cabling, access control, surveillance cameras, wireless networks, and integrated security platforms.As businesses modernize their facilities and adopt cloud managed systems, the need for technicians who understand both physical infrastructure and network fundamentals has increased significantly. Skilled workers capable of installing, troubleshooting, and supporting these systems are in high demand across the technology, construction, and security industries.This position provides hands on experience with structured cabling, network equipment, surveillance systems, and access control technologies. Participants who complete the program will gain practical skills that align with current industry needs and can transition into full time roles supporting enterprise and government clients.
