For our instructional component, we are seeking veterans who have a desire to continue to serve by being a teacher within our public school system. Candidates would need to hold a bachelors degree from an accredited university or college and may require the need to take a state subject level exam in order to obtain their temporary teaching certificate in Kentucky. This internship opportunity would provide specific experiences to the candidate by being assigned a mentor teacher within our schools. For our operational component, we are seeking veterans interested in the fields of school district maintenance, finance, food services, technology, transportation, and office management. Candidates would receive job training in a school district setting.
Job description:
Instructionally, Breckinridge County Public Schools is looking for a variety of certifications within our teacher ranks. We are looking for teachers at all levels: IECE, elementary, middle, and high. Operationally, our school district has positions as bus drivers, maintenance (building and grounds and bus garage), food service, computer technicians, bookkeepers and accounts payable, accounting and grant management, and office managers.

All school district employees must pass Administrative Office of the Courts, FBI, and Child Abuse and Neglect background checks. There are not specific eligibility requirements for the internship, but for future employment, each job description has specific requirements. To be employed as a teacher, a bachelors degree is required.
