The program introduces those core job skills (both academic and practical) that will be needed to succeed as an Airway Transportation Systems Specialist. A short overview of the skills will be provided, and resources are suggested to gain more in-depth proficiency. The candidate participates in maintenance actions and is provided an overview of the system function, operation, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting, and other pertinent information related to the job position.
Airway Transportation Systems Specialists work across the country maintaining vital systems used by Air Traffic Controllers and Pilots. We work on a broad range of equipment including environmental, power, radar, navigation, communication, and automation equipment.
