Job description:
Manages Engineering projects within the scope of the program (e.g. job/ special emphasis groups, outreach, etc.). Determines required resources; identifies and analyzes issues, problems, best practices, and challenges for the project; formulates and evaluates possible courses of action; draws conclusions based on relevant facts; and recommends solutions.Applies qualitative and quantitative methods in assessing management processes andsystems. Responds to management requests to analyze problems and issues. Develops and presents issues to meet management needs and program objectives. Recommends workable solutions and management actions that are based on sound management principles and are achievable in relation to agency policy and regulations. Problems and issues addressed may involve matters such as efficiency and effectiveness in organizational design; records management; or developing or modifying procedures for carrying out managerial or administrative functions. Evaluates the effectiveness of Engineering programs. Conducts fact-finding, analyzes data, and prepares and presents findings and recommendations. Identifies and develops ways toresolve problems and proposes changes to improve the conduct of program operations.Reviews and evaluates policies and procedures to determine gaps where additional Engineering guidance is needed. Compiles and analyzes data and prepares administrative and/or program/project reports. Reports may encompass workload/workforce, programmatic, mission-oriented, and/or organizational issues. Uses quantitative analytical methods to evaluate programmatic data and to identify and analyze program or policy issues. May participate in analyzing management information requirements to develop program or administrative reporting systems including the systems specifications, data gathering, and analytical techniques, and systems evaluation methodology.
